Light Fox Photography is a Red Deer-based, family-owned photography business as well.

OUTDOOR OR INDOOR?

First of all, you have to decide what Family photography style you prefer. I almost always vote for Outdoor Family photo sessions, as natural light is always a good idea. If the weather is great there is absolutely no reason to avoid gorgeous parks with blossoming trees in spring or bright yellow leaves in autumn.

But if the weather isn't great and the photoshoot requires light close (like Engagement or Graduation photo sessions) or the photoshoot involves little kids, a Studio Photo session becomes an obvious choice. Indoor and Outdoor photography both have some pluses and minuses.

Outdoor Natural Light Photography definitely offers the most variety of backgrounds, like an opened field, forest, mountains and much more.

Studio Photography on another hand is the best option if it's a cold season or the weather doesn't cooperate or if the nature of the photoshoot requires a studio Set-Up. For example, Newborn Photography and Cake Smash Photography are almost always done in an indoor environment.

So, both of the photography kinds are awesome in their own way, but it is up to you, to decide with one will work the best!

WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?

Most people underestimate how important is your outfit and the influence it has on the final look of the photos. We understand that it is not always possible to get exactly matching outfits, but there are a few things you have to keep in mind when picking your and your family's clothing:

#1 KEEP IT SIMPLE

Pick calm, solid colours rather than bright and loud colour patterns. Something like white, black, gray or beige are a perfect choice. Also, try to avoid strips and pled patterns. If you can't match outfits for all of your family members, a good idea is to use something to combine everybody with, like the same colour scarfs or matching hats or even mugs...

#2 STAY WARM AND COMFORTABLE

Even though it's important to pick good-looking clothes for your photoshoot, it is way more important to feel comfortable and warm. If you will get cold on an outside winter photo session, you won't look happy in the photos and quite possibly will get a nasty red nose...

If you have to be underdressed at the photoshoot ( Engagement, Maternity or Wedding Beauty photography), take some warm clothes or even a blanket with you. So you could get warm between the shots.

#3 PHOTOSHOOT AND HIKING?

For any outdoor photo sessions, you have to think strategically. Most of the photo sessions will require a little bit of walking, ...and maybe even climbing. Everybody loves photos with beautiful sceneries, but first, you have to get there somehow.

So, take with you some boots, maybe even rubber ones. Mosquito spray is also a good idea if the photoshoot is in a foresty location. And of course, a bottle of water and some wet napkins are must-have.

LARGE FAMILY PHOTOS... AND SOME PETS?

Families can be so different, they can be small and big, with lots of little kids or only adults... So, it is impossible to set one photography package for every family. Family photography prices depend on many things. First and the most important is the number of people and their ages. Generally speaking, the larger number of people, the higher price. Age is also an important factor, little kids are definitely the most gorgeous models but it's not easy to make them pose...haha.

The location is also a strong contributing factor. As Light Fox Photography is a Red Deer-based photographer, we don't charge extra for travel if you live within 30 min drive from Red Deer. But it's not only about the distance. If the client requests the photoshoot to be done in a complicated or dangerous location, it will affect the price.

And of course, about fluffy family members. Light Fox Photography will be more than happy to photograph your family and your pets ( dogs, cats, horses and more). Outdoor photo sessions would be the best choice for family photography with pets, but for the small number of people and pets of manageable sizes, a photo studio photoshoot is a great option as well. For the indoor king of photography, your pet should be potty trained and well-behaved.

WHAT FAMILY PHOTO SESSION INCLUDES?

After you book your Family photo session and pay the deposit you will get :

#1 Consultation over the phone, when you can describe your vision for the upcoming session so I could meet your expectations in the best way possible.

#2 You will have the option to pick your own location (if outdoor) or let us offer you some options not far from your residence.

#3 Family photo session in my studio or outdoors.

#4 Online gallery with the preview images from your family photo session. Where you can pick your own favourite images with the opportunity to pick even more photos.

#5 Professional photo editing and retouching for your images.

#6 Print release for your images.

#7 And of course deals and discounts on future sessions.

WHAT IS NEXT?

I bet you can't wait to see your family photos! Bear with me and I will explain step by step what is gonna happen next.

#1 PREVIEWS

Within 1-2 weeks from the time the full payment was received for your Milestone photoshoot, you will receive an email with access to Online Gallery, which will hold the unedited and downsized images from your session (Previews).

Those images are provided to you so you could pick your own favourite photos (the amount will depend on the purchased package). You always can pick more photos for an extra fee.

You will have 3 weeks to create your favourite list before the galley will expire.

IMPORTANT: Don't forget to let me know when you are done to avoid delays.

#2 FULLY EDITED DIGITAL IMAGES

After 1-2 weeks from the time you picked your favourite images, you will receive 2 emails with 2 separate galleries, which will hold fully edited digital images from your photo session.

One of the galleries will hold images prepared for Printing Only and will be named "For Printing". Photos will be in High-Resolution (300 ppi) and will have no watermark.

Photos from this gallery are NOT allowed on any Web or Social Media.

The second gallery will hold the same images, prepared for Web/Social media posting.

And will be named "For Social Media". These images will be appropriately downsized to 72 ppi. for the best experience on any Website or Social Media (FaceBook, Instagram, etc...)

IMPORTANT: Make sure to download both galleries before the expiry date!

If you will fail to do so, it may result in a full loss of the images!

TERMS & CONDITIONS

The deposit is non-refundable and required upon booking. If you didn't pay the deposit, your date is not secured.
Full payment is required on the session date. The photographer won't start working on images until full payment is received.
2 week waiting period starts on the next day the full payment was received.
If you will fail to download your fully edited images by the expiry date it may result in the full loss of the images. Light Fox Photography is not liable to store images past the expiry date and can't be held responsible for the loss of images.
Only watermarked images are allowed on Web & Social Media
The customer is not allowed to edit images, except for the forced cropping on Instagram.
Light Fox Photography is not responsible for print quality if not printed directly by the photographer.
