WHEN IS THE BEST TIME FOR MATERNITY PHOTOS?

When is the best time for a Maternity photo session? Well, it's very individual. I would say, the perfect time for maternity photography is when your bump is already obviously round and you still can move freely. That usually is between 28 and 36 weeks of pregnancy. The most important is not to wait too long. Because that can become dangerously close to the due date. In this case, you are risking missing your opportunity to get some dreamy maternity photos.

MATERNITY PHOTOSHOOT IDEAS

Photography is generally a very creative process and to be honest the limit to that is only your imagination.

So let's list the most popular, beautiful and easy photoshoot ideas for Maternity photography.

#1 REFLECTION

Of the best ideas for the photo studio Maternity photo session is a simple reflection. It's an easy and absolutely gorgeous pose, that doesn't require much work from the pregnant model.

You can sit or lay down. reflection can be achieved by laying on a sheet of plexiglass (acrylic sheet) or be added in post-editing.

#2 WHAT TO WEAR FOR MATERNITY PHOTOSHOOT?

Again, it depends on what are you comfortable with. Light Fox photography - Red Deer Maternity Photographer will provide a variety of maternity dresses, so you could pick what suits you the best. And you always can bring your own dresses. We have classic maternity dresses that cover most of your body for a very modest and elegant look. We also have more open and transparent lacy dresses for women that want to really emphasize a baby bump.

And don't worry, if the maternity photo session is outside, Light Fox Photography will provide a portable changing room for your comfort.

Using a piece of fabric is also a very good idea that looks very fresh in the photos. this style of photos definitely has to be done in a photo studio.

#3 JUST THE BELLY

And let's not forget about sweet close-up macro shots of the belly. There are so many ideas you could use. You could put a pair of cute baby socks over your belly, or paint a heart or a rainbow or even write something with the paint. Your limit is only your imagination.

LITTLE TIPS FOR AN AMAIZING MATERNITY PHOTOS

#1 LOCATION

Pick your location yourself. You should be comfortable at the photoshoot. And if you have some location that has a special meaning to you, or you just really love that park or a tree in your backyard... go for it! Don't be shy to suggest your own place. After all, it's your photos and your special memories. Light Fox Photography will make sure every your idea and request will get fulfilled in full!

#2 OUTFIT

We already mentioned that maternity outfits can be different, but which one is the best?

Definitely, the one that emphasizes your bump. Good idea to go with transparent and semitransparent materials. Also, as for any other photoshoots, in the Maternity photo session go with simple solid colours, like black, white, beige, gray, etc...

#3 ENJOY THIS!

This one is the MOST important tip. Enjoy it! This is your magical time! Love your body and don't be shy. Do anything you want, and don't be afraid to ask the photographer about any ideas or poses or you would like to try. The more creative and open you are, the better photos will turn out, trust me!
